The Advancing Liberty fundraising initiative is part of the Liberty Region’s five-year strategic plan and our expression of Young Life’s FORWARD campaign. Your awareness of and contribution to Young Life’s mission in the Liberty Region makes you an insider, and this newsletter helps to keep you informed.
Plant + Cultivate
A staple of Young Life’s mission and the key to growth in the Liberty Region’s five-year strategic plan is to go to where kids are. And so, it’s also one of the primary goals of the Advancing Liberty campaign, which we call Plant and Cultivate. That means we focus on two ways to grow YL in the Liberty Region - starting new areas in urban and small-town areas where Young Life has never had a presence and beginning new ministries in local communities that have never had a Young Life club.
Plant + Cultivate
The Regional Leadership Team endeavors to create sixteen new areas and more than eighty new ministries throughout the Liberty Region over the next five years. That, in turn, requires the hiring of fifteen new staff and more than 70 volunteer leaders.
Meet Chris John, Prayer Subcommittee Lead
Chris John leads our prayer team for the regional campaign, which also includes Dan White, Tracy McGuire and Christine Florczynski. Chris’ Young Life story started like many of ours – his three sons began attending YL in middle and high school (in Garnet Valley). Jeff Boyda was transitioning in as the new Area Director in Delaware County and Chris decided to join his Committee. It didn’t take long for him to become Committee Chair, a role Chris has held for the last two years. His wife, Sharon, is a Wyldlife leader at Garnet Valley Middle School and they enjoy the privilege of hosting middle school boys and girls at their home for "Cabin Time".

As Chris states, “Our calling as the Prayer Team for Advancing Liberty is to get all of us praying for this important campaign to double the number of students we reach over the next 5 years. With prayer as the cornerstone of this campaign we will achieve this very lofty goal.” Chris continues, “You will be hearing more from us about how you can pray for the campaign.”
